AA 3 Red Star Award
The AA identifies the highest performing hotels in Britain and Ireland as the AA Inspector’s Choice Hotels. 
This is the AA’s supreme accolade, used to recognise hotels that stand out as the very best, regardless of size or style. Here we are recognising establishments that have worked to become the very best in the industry. The AA Inspectors’ Choice Awards are announced annually and recognise the very best hotels in Ireland. To achieve this award, a hotel must offer consistently outstanding levels of quality, comfort, cleanliness and customer care. Sandhouse are among the top five percent of Irish hotels to achieve this top classification. There are 17 Red Star Hotels in Ireland.
Rosettes
This is one of the most prestigious awards that can be bestowed upon an Irish restaurant. AA Rosettes are awarded annually, and are only bestowed on hotel restaurants providing consistently excellent cuisine. To receive one, a restaurant must offer food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients. 
Guests should be able to eat in with confidence and a sense of anticipation. The aim of the Rosette scheme is to provide AA Members, its guidebook readers and the general public reliable information about where to find superb food. The main consideration when awarding Rosettes are the quality of the cooking and consistent standards across all dishes on all menus every day throughout the year. Rosettes are awarded on a rising scale of 1 to 5.
